Model of a Local University
The well-meaning men behind the establishment of PLM some four decades ago probably never thought that their brainchild of a local university would be able to go beyond its avowed goal of providing the best education possible to the marginalized but deserving youth of Manila.
Continuous improvement and innovation in its degree offering and services has catapulted PLM to an enviable post as the model of a local university. It is no surprise that it has made the grade as a leader among local universities. Aside from its commendable performance in licensure examinations, its landmark initiative of spearheading the formation of the Association of Colleges and Universities (ALCU) and the ALCU-Commission on Accreditation is an affirmation of its role as a benchmark in the educational arena.
PLM has taken the lead role in spearheading the "LCU phenomenon" across the country -- to bring hope to the youth in achieving great heights inspite of poverty. To keep ALCU's sight fixed to its noble objectives, university presidents of LCUs across the country unanimously elected PLM President Atty. Adel A. Tamano as ALCU's National President.
