All students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) will receive a passing mark for the Second Semester of Academic Year 2019-2020, according to the Office Order No. 2020-0421-01 Series of 2020 released by the Office of the University President.

“In recognition of the extremely serious impact of COVID 19 on the academic life of students, faculty and the academic community as a whole, the PLM Board of Regents has unanimously approved the Alternative Grading System for the Second Semester of the academic school year 2019-2020,” University President Emmanuel A. Leyco said.

PLM is the first public university in the country that opted to pass all its students.

Under the Alternative Grading system, all students will be given a passing mark. This includes graduating students and students enrolled in internship/on-the-job/practicum course, provided that they submit the thesis and fulfill the alternative activities as specified by their colleges, respectively. Undergraduate students who need to submit thesis as a graduation requirement need not undergo a panel defense.

Meanwhile, graduate students will be given another year to complete requirements for their thesis or dissertation.

The memo also clarified that the second semester officially ends on May 23, 2020, as stated in the original academic calendar.

PLM is a premier university that has produced competent and socially responsible graduates who have contributed to nation-building since 1965. For more info, visit plm.edu.ph.#
