The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila held the thanksgiving mass and oath-taking of new registered nurses today, January 15, 2020, at Justo Albert Auditorium, PLM Campus.

The oath-taking was led by Hon. Carmelita Divinagracia, a member of the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) Board of Nursing. It was witnessed by the graduates’ parents and faculty of the College of Nursing.

In his speech, President Emmanuel Leyco lauded the new registered nurses. “I join your loved ones in congratulating you for bravely entering the challenging discipline of nursing. PLM was established over 50 years ago with the mandate of pursuing academic integrity and academic excellence. Your recent performance is testimony to PLM’s academic excellence and academic integrity,” he said.

PLM’s B.S. Nursing Class of 2019 produced 48 board passers, which include three topnotchers. They are Ansherina Awatin, who placed second; Erica Francis Uy, sixth; and Francesca Irish Melendres, tenth.

College of Nursing Dean Lynette Cleto thanked both the new nurses and the faculty, who prepared the students for the board exam.

The PLM has produced 10 nursing licensure exam topnotchers since 2015.
