Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) is grateful for the strong interest of thousands of applicants from all over the country to be admitted to the university this Academic Year 2022-2023.

Following the release of emails to qualifiers and waitlisted applicants last 31 May 2022, PLM has been receiving a lot of requests for reconsideration of their application for admission. However, due to resource constraints that include limited availability of faculty, PLM could no longer do so.

The initial 2,000 PLM qualifiers are categorized into four categories: Category 1: Manila Resident, Public School Graduate; Category 2: Manila Resident, Private School Graduate; Category 3: Non-manila Resident, Public School Graduate and Category 4: Non-Manila Resident, Private School Graduate.

For this academic year’s freshmen, the top passers were dominated by graduates from the Manila Science High School. Category 1 qualifiers’ general weighted average (GWA)  ranges from 92 to 98, for Category 2 qualifiers its 96-100, Category 3 qualifiers are 97-99 and Category 4 qualifiers GWA ranges from 98-100.

As of June 1, 2022, PLM has already sent acceptance letters to 2,661 applicants, including 406 waitlisted applicants. Qualifiers were given until June 7, 2022 to choose and confirm their desired programs, while waitlisted applicants may confirm their slots until June 15, 2022.

From the initial 2,000 applicants, PLM has opened more blocks to accommodate 1,000 more applicants in its roster.

“As much as the PLM wanted to accommodate everyone, we are constrained from doing so due to resource constraints that include the limited availability of faculty. We are hoping for everyone’s understanding,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.

Notices are now being sent to applicants to advise them on the status of their applications.
