The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila officially opens the new School of Public Health on 05 May 2021 through a thanks giving mass headed by Rev. Fr Matteo and a soft opening program thereafter which was attended online by officials, students, and employees.

School of Public Health Dean Dr. Teresita S. Cadiz-Brion opens the program with great honor and pride that the university is upholding its mandate of providing assistance to the solve real-world problems in the field of health. "Our nation's vision is really to improve the health of our people, and I'm confident that with the grace of God, we will be able to do it," she said.

Meanwhile, President Emmanuel A. Leyco delivers his inspirational message and explain the reasons on the establishment of the School of Public Health. Further, the president emphasized that the newest school will help aspiring health workers to be equipped with knowledge and experience in providing health assistance to the Filipino people.

“PLM will ensure to help our future doctors and nurses be equipped with the proper training especially now that we are faced with the pandemic. May the God bless us with more brave health workers who will ensure the health care of our fellow Filipinos in the future,” President Leyco added.

"It is the collective aspiration of the City of Manila and as well as PLM that through the opening of School of Public Health, we can contribute to the education and training of public health professionals to serve our countrymen,” Board of Regents member Atty. Jose Ngaw explains.

Finally, Senior Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Clydelle Rondaris expressed her gratitude to the Board of Regents, the University President, faculty, and staff for their support and persistence in establishing the School of Public Health.
