The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila is proud to announce that the University ranked as the sixth best performing school in the 2019 Bar examinations.

PLM recognizes the dedication and diligence of our new lawyers, whose strong performances in last year’s exams kept PLM as one of the top institutions among 200 law schools in the country.

The Legal Education Board, which supervises law schools in the Philippines, awarded a plaque of recognition to the PLM College of Law on November 11 to mark this milestone.

PLM posted a 55.88% passing rate, among the highest compared to schools with fewer than 63 examinees. Of the 2,103 Bar passers last year, 19 were PLM graduates. They were sworn in by Supreme Court justices through video conference in June, a safety precaution amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The LEB acknowledged the hard work that the faculty members, students, and staff have devoted in educating the country’s future lawyers.

“Congratulations, Dean George Garcia and to the faculty, students, and staff of the PLM College of Law! Your efforts are now getting the results that your College truly deserves. The University takes pride in this recognition from the Legal Education Board and your continued adherence to excellence in serving the public interest,” University President Emmanuel Leyco said.

"This is indeed uplifting as the country continues to go through difficult times from the pandemic, economic dislocations and now, destructive typhoons. Thank you for making PLM prouder!," he added.

PLM has managed to keep its average passing rate consistently higher than the national average in the past couple of years.
