President Emmanuel A. Leyco, the 10th duly-elected president of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), was formally welcomed by the PLM community during the investiture ceremony held on October 18, 2019 at the University Activity Center.

He was duly-elected by the Board of Regents as university president in July 2019.

In his speech, President Leyco emphasized the PLM’s new thrusts that will promote the public interest in education. With the support of the community, he would like PLM to be known as a bastion of leadership for business and government where graduates are known for their technical excellence, analytical thinking, and compassion.

President Leyco was warmly welcomed by the 500-strong audience comprised of the Board of Regents, heads of academic and administrative offices, faculty, staff, students, institutional partners, members of the press, as well as his family and friends. The four-hour ceremony included salutations and messages from Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, Makati Business Club Chairperson` Edgar Chua, retired professor Dr. Soledad A. Hernando, PLM Supreme Student Council President John Benedict C. Bien, and Regents Wilma Galvante and Atty. George Erwin Garcia.

As part of the investiture rite, President Leyco received the University Mace and Academic Collar, which represent power to administer the institution and the academic leadership needed to fulfill the university's vision, respectively, from Board of Regents. 

Monsignor Vicente D. Bauson, director of Ministry on Campus of the Archdiocese of Manila, also gave the church's blessing to President Leyco. 

The investiture ceremony is the sixth in the history of PLM.
