The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila invites members of the community to join a virtual fun run from June 16 to 18, 2021 to mark this year’s celebration of Philippine Independence Day.

The event organized by the Presidential Committee on Arts, Culture, & Sports offers a 10-kilometer virtual race to be fulfilled through electronic means. The 10 km. Independence Day Run to Empowerment is open to PLM students, staff and faculty by signing up here: bit.ly/PLMVirtualRun2021

Apart from reinforcing a sense of community and patriotism, this is also the University’s way of encouraging exercise and fitness after more than a year of limited mobility due to quarantine restrictions.

Students may use any of the running tracker apps Strava, Runkeeper, and Map My Run to log the distance they covered.

Within the three-day window, one can walk, jog, or run at his/her own pace and while strictly adhering to minimum health protocols prescribed by the national COVID-19 task force. The distance may also be covered using treadmill or a pedometer.

Document the experience using screenshots or photos of progress between Wednesday to Friday. Submit it in a photo collage through the following link on June 18: bit.ly/PLMVirtualRun2021

Top 10 finishers among men and women divisions will each receive a medal, while all participants will receive an e-certificate. A virtual awarding ceremony is scheduled on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 4 PM.
