The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) is welcoming new and returning students on Tuesday, August 29 to officially begin Academic Year 2023-2024.

The University is pleased to be the chosen home of thousands of students in the undergraduate and graduate levels as they continue their professional pursuits across various fields of study.

The first day of school begins with a flag-raising ceremony at 8 a.m., to be followed by a welcome assembly for freshmen at the Justo Albert Auditorium.

“The PLM community is thrilled to embark on another journey with our dear students in this new school year. I am confident that your professors, our campus facilities, and program curricula are well-designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to thrive in your chosen fields,” University President Emmanuel Leyco said.

“In turn, it is our hope that you put your talents to contribute towards nation-building.”

Now on its 56th year, PLM sustains its legacy as a provider of free quality education to the Filipino youth.

PLM also continues to be a safe space for academic freedom and gender expression. Since 2022, the University has relaxed its rules on school uniforms to allow students to wear uniforms for their comfort and/or as aligned with their gender identity.
